Hack your growth

Many times I get approached by startups who ask me for big outside the box ideas to hack growth. They share that they’ve spoken to many marketers, however, they haven’t heard any original ideas so far.

“Most marketing advice is repetitive and it should be. Great brands didn’t hack their way to fast fame. They did common things consistently well for years.”, according to Jeremy Moser and I couldn't agree more.

So what are my main tips for these startups?

- Consistency is key.

- Marketing is a long term play, not a fast win. Strong marketing starts with building the foundations well, versus always needing to reinvent the wheel.

- It's essential to measure your performance, so you know whether your marketing strategy is working or not.

For startups in the bootstrapping phase, guerrilla marketing could be the way to go, but having foundations to catch the demand is still essential. Also, you might find that you already have creative talent on your team and you don't need to outsource to a marketing consultant.
